SFI Foundation Teams Up with NDRA:  

The National Dirt Racers Association (NDRA) have been invited by the SFI Foundation Inc (Specialty Equipment Marketing Association) to allow NDRA members to visit the site which is used on a basis to administer and issue the standards for specialty / performance automotive and racing equipment.  

NDRA came onboard early this month and believes that the NDRA organisation is “for racers by racers” and their mission statement reads "managing speedway motor sport in Australia to the highest level of professionalism by devising, implementing and enforcing regulations set down by government and regulatory bodies that maintain the sport's integrity and to keep the sport fair, open and safe for competitors, pit crews and officials.”   

The SFI Foundation is more than pleased with their recent agreement with the NDRA.   

Having accepted the invitation, the NDRA will now be able to be updated with the current safety standards of the equipment used in Speedway, which will include helmets, neck braces etc.   

SFI founded in 1963 and has been performing strongly since its opening. SFI operates a test laboratory and has an extensive list of approved racing apparel and equipment.  

It produces a wide range of Quality Assurance Specifications for safety related motorsport products that form “accepted industry-wide standards” which have proven to assist in reducing accidents, injuries, fatalities and therefore insurance claims and litigation.     

The Foundation is funded by companies, which voluntarily participate in the specification program, along with financial support from sanctioning member bodies. As a result of this support, SFI has developed several programs for almost eighty different products used by manufacturers, motor sport groups and consumers throughout the world.   

Having helped so many people throughout the world with their safety enquires etc; NDRA just couldn’t decline the offer as safety is an extremely important part of any motor sport.   

NDRA national secretary Anne Dicker is very excited about this new announcement.   

“The SFI had asked us to come onboard with their company as a member so we would be able to keep up the with safety standards that are associated with Speedway and some other motorsports, its something that you just cant decline as racing equipment that we use to race with is extremely important,” she enthused.   

“I recommend that any association involved in speedway should join with the SFI foundation as it is an extremely useful foundation and is a very important matter when it comes to safety in motorsport.”
